The cylinder block is the backbone of the engine to which all its mechanisms and parts are secured. The piston takes up the pressure of gases during the power stroke and transmits it via the piston pin and connecting rod to the crankshaft. The upper part of the piston, called a crown, has grooves which receive the pis-ton rings. The bottom part, called a skirt, guides the piston in the cylinder. The piston skirt has bosses with holes for the piston pin. The connecting rod serves to connect the piston to the crankshaft. The force applied to the piston during the power stroke is transmitted by the connecting rod to the crankshaft. The crankshaft takes the forces transmitted from the pistons via the connecting rods and converts them into torque, which is then imparted via the flywheel to the drive line of the vehicle.

My favorite animal is a cat. Cats have many , but none , I think , this is not remarkable , as I have. Her name is Dashka -cute . She is about three years.
Her coat is tri-colored , striped . Old people say that cats with this coloration would bring happiness. Since Dasha is a cutie appeared in our house , fun and laughter are always with us . She loves to run and play , but to sleep , to soak up the sunshine. When Dashka - cutie wants outside , she meows . Want to eat , she cuddles . If we sit down to eat, she can quietly take something from the table.
That's such a wonderful cat lives in our house . I love her very much.

Many people can’t imagine their life without pets. I’m one of them. I think that pets create a special atmosphere at home. As for me, I love all kinds of domestic animals: cats, dogs, hamsters, turtles, rabbits, parrots, etc. If I could choose, I’d keep all of these animals in our flat, but my mum and dad are against it. They allow me to keep only one cat and two hamsters. The cat’s name is Barsik and the hamsters’ names are Nicky and Rich. Nicky is a girl and Rich is a boy. They are very cute. Barsik doesn’t seem to like them much, so I try to keep them in separate rooms. I know that English people like pets too. Most of them live in detached houses far from the noise of the cities. That’s why they can afford having two, three and more pets. I have a pen friend from Chesterfield. Her name is Ann. In a recent letter to me she wrote that they have six pets: two dogs, three cats and a rabbit. I think she is one lucky girl! When I ask my mum to buy a dog, she says that she doesn’t want to turn our flat into the zoo. From one hand, I understand her. All pets need proper care, lots of effort and attention. For example, last time when my cat got sick, we spent a whole week at the veterinary clinic. As for dogs, they also need lots of medicine and injections. I will need to walk it at least twice a day. I will need to be careful of ticks in the grass. It means that keeping a pet is a very responsible hobby. That’s why my parents don’t want many of them in the flat. Oh well, they promised to get a small aquarium with fishes for me next week.
