Кислотные дожди.

Кислотные дожди - большая проблема во многих странах мира. Многие фрукты и напитки – например, апельсины - содержат кислоты, но они безвредны. Обычный дождь тоже малотоксичен. Но высокая токсичность опасна. Автомобильные аккумуляторы содержат кислоту, которая может сжечь ваши руки и может прожечь дырки на вашей одежде. В 1979 году кислотный дождь в Западной Виржинии, США, был так же токсичен, как и аккумуляторная кислота.

Проблема кислотных дождей не нова. Человек начал производить кислотные дожди, когда  начал строить много фабрик и электростанций, которые сжигают уголь и нефть. Когда вы их сжигаете, вы производите такие газы, как SO2, например. В Канаде и Северной Европе миллионы деревьев погибли из-за кислотных дождей, кислотного тумана и кислотного снега. Кислотные дожди и кислотный снег также загрязняют реки и озера. Рыбы и другие животные не могут жить в кислотной воде.

Кислотные дожди вредны для зданий, которые находятся  в опасности из-за кислотных дождей. Люди могут очищать  дым от фабрик и электростанций, но это дорого. И что более опасно -  у многих стран, которые производят самые кислотные дожди, нет закона,  контролирующего загрязнения.
