The Marathon races are held in three different categories: the Mass Race, the Elite Women’s Race, and the Wheelchair Race (a race for people in wheelchairs). Thousands of spectators encourage the runners on their way. Since the London Marathon began, there are several runners who have participated in it each year. All of them have always managed to reach the finish line. These men are known as ‘The Ever Presents’ and at present there are 24 of them. The oldest runner of this group is 80-year-old Reg Burbidge, and the youngest is Chris Finill, who is 48. The London Marathon is a world famous event. It is shown on television in over 150 countries.

    Мы никогда не видели Додо. Последние из этих больших птиц, которые не летают умерли много лет назад. Сейчас они вымерают. Гораздо больше исчезающих видов животных – рыб, пресмыкающихся, насекомых, птиц и млекопитающих могут исчезнуть. Причиной является человек, который убивает животных и уничтожает их места обитания.
    Это не только животные, которые находятся в опасности. Это и растения. Каждый день мы используем бумагу и картон. Мы используем различные виды древесины в мебели и в других целях. Каждый год более 100000 кв. км. лесов на Земле может быть уничтожено. Включая тропические леса в Южной Америке, Африке и Азии. Огромные леса контролировать мировую погоду и производят значительную часть кислорода в воздухе. Есть много болезней, которые мы до сих пор не может вылечить. Это может быть, потому что лекарства надо будет найти у диких растений, в саваннах, в пустынях или в лесах.
   Если мы не будем делать нашу жизнь здоровой и интересной, ведь много других существ и растений, которые нуждаются в растущем пространство тоже.
