Статические глаголы выражают состояние, мыслительные процессы, желание или нежелание, ощущения. В своем большинстве эти глаголы английского языка не имеют формы длительного/ продолженного времени Continuous:

I don't think she feels safe there. Я думаю, что она не чувствует себя там в безопасности.

Глагол feel как раз относится к группе этих глаголов, которые выражают чувства и ощущения, а потому глагол feel не используют в таком значении в длительном времени. Здесь не происходит действия и нельзя наблюдать процесс со стороны!
