The Monument to the Great Fire of London, usually known as the
Monument, is a stone column in the City of London. It was devoted to
commemorate1 the Great Fire of London which happened in 1666. The monument shows a high column with a ball with flames on its top. It was
 built by Sir Christopher Wren. Tourists can reach the top by a
staircase of 311 steps. At the end of the 18th century it was the highest in London. Three sides of the base carry information in Latin. The one
on the east describes how the monument was built. The words on
the north side describe how the fire started and how much damage it
taken . The south side describes actions designed by Charles II
following the fire. The west side of the base displays a sculpture which is
 brought to the City of London after the Great Fire.

Одно как механическое вычислительное устройство (около 550 г. до н. э.), другое как понятие (1883 г.), а третье как современный электронный цифровой компьютер (1946 г.).Первый механический калькулятор, называется "абака", был изобретен в Вавилоне около 500 г. до н. э. Абака обеспечил быстрый расчета и просуществовал до 1642 г., когда французский ученый Блез Паскаль изобрел калькулятор, изготовленный из колес и зубчатых передач.Именно в 1833 году концепция современного компьютера появилась в Великобритании. Британский математик Чарльз Баббидж разработал " аналитический движок", который содержал все необходимые элементы современного компьютера: устройства ввода, память, вычислительный блок, блок управления и устройства вывода. Паровозный  "аналитический двигатель"  был такой же большой, как паровоз.Были построены и введены в эксплуатацию в конце 1920-х и 1930-х годов, несколько новых типов калькуляторов. Но только в 1939 году был создан настоящий прототип компьютера на основе двоичной системы нумерации.
