It took him about three months to build the first wind generator. Then he built four more installations, the largest of which is 11 meters high. The energy received from the plants is used to supply electricity to the settlement in the Camquamba, and windmills also help pump water.

Currently, 22-year-old William Camquamba is studying at the African Academy of Leadership, an elite school in South Africa. His training is paid by sponsors.
