Guess what? I'm writing to you from Beijing! Just a few days ago, I bought a lottery ticket and won a free trip to China. Unbelievable! I'm having a great time here. The hotel I'm staying in is wonderful. We have three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. All is Chinese cuisine. It's autumn. Autumn is the best season in Beijing. The weather is neither cold nor hot, with clear sky and the best air quality. The locals here are well-known for being friendly, warm, and welcoming to those visiting. And they really are. Though, they all look the same to me. Tomorrow I'm going to visit the Forbidden City, a palace complex which is right in the centre of Beijing, and take some photos. I'm so excited! I wish you were here!

Travelling gives you many 1) wonderful experiences you cannot find in your own country. You meet local people and get to understand different cultures. It’s so exciting. I love planning trips and doing some research on the country or countries I want to visit. Sometimes I like to plan everything in advance, my flights, hotels and tours, etc. For me, the most 2) exciting thing is arriving in a country with no hotel reservation and no fixed plans. I prefer staying in hostels and guest houses. You get to meet and talk to different and 3) interesting people and share information. I also like to visit places that are off the beaten track. Being somewhere with thousands of other tourists? It’s not my cup of tea.
