There are many interesting buildings in Ufa. One of them is Lala Tulpan. It is one of the largest mosques in Russia. It has got two minarets, each of them is 53 metres tall. In 2001 Russian president V. Putin visited Lala Tulpan and met with the local Muslim leaders. 
The Russian Islamic University was also located at Lala Tulpan in 1999 - 2005.
