In 1964, Nike was founded by student Phil Knight and his trainer Bill Bowerman. Phil Knight was a mid-distance runner on the Oregon University team. The company's first name was Blue Ribbon Sports. They invested $ 500 in this company. The company specialized in ordering sneakers in Asian countries, only then sold them on the American market. With $ 500, Bowerman and Knight ordered 300 pairs of sneakers from Onitsuka Tiger, now known as Asics. The first product was released in 1971 - Nike sneakers with a waffle-shaped sole design. Bowerman took the idea from his wife, or rather from her waffle iron. The company was officially renamed Nike in 1978.

My winter vacation passed wonderfully. This year heavy snow covered the ground, so there was no time to get bored. Together with friends we drove in a sleigh, made snowmen, played snowballs and just had fun. In the evening I watched TV, talked on the phone with friends and occasionally played on the computer.

The second week my family took me to a winter resort. I don’t ski very well, so it was hard in the beginning to learn how to ski down mountain slopes. But the next day, I learned to keep balance and fell to the ground only a few times. At a ski resort we spent 4 days. During this period I managed to make friends and girlfriends, with whom now I keep in touch and correspond through the internet. We hope to see one another again at the same place next year.

By the end of winter break my spirits fell. Suddenly it came in on me that I had not done some homework. But still there were a couple of days left, and I had time to do the tasks before the beginning of classes. How quickly vacations end! And how long a school year lasts!

The Internet has entered our everyday lives. Everyone knows that the Internet is a global computer network that connects hundreds of millions of users worldwide and helps us to communicate with each other.
History of the Internet started in the United States in 1969. It was a military experiment designed to help survive a nuclear war, when everything can be contaminated by radiation  dangerous to go out, to deliver any information. Information sent over the Internet, goes from one computer to another through the shortest and safest routes available. Thanks to this two computers on the network can communicate with each other until there is at least one route between them. This technology was called packet switching.
