Совсем недавно, 19 июля, из Чехии завезли альпаков – это домашнее парнокопытное животное, произошедшее от викуньи, кенгуру – один самец и две самки, каролинка – обитатель Северной Америки, отличающаяся от других лягушек яйцеобразной формой тела. Мы не планируем завозить новых питомцев до конца года, так как уже сейчас начинаем готовиться к зиме. Зима 2012 года была очень холодной, часто выпадал снег, но мы достойно ее пережили, хотя и была одна потеря – жертвой стала одна из птиц. Но мы делали все возможное, дабы сберечь животных от холода. Например, львы, ягуар и леопард содержались в утепленных вольерах. Фазаны были перемещены в специальный крытый вольерный комплекс. Аквариумы с рыбами были оснащены специальными системами обогрева.Самый крупный – это лев, которому уже 15 лет, а верблюду уже около 20 лет. Самые маленькие, то есть молодые, – это кенгуру и альпако, по возрасту же самый маленький это олененок, ему около 20 дней. Сюда же можно отнести декоративных птиц и попугаев. Хотелось бы отметить, что сейчас в инкубаторе находятся яйца павлина, мы все ждем, когда же вылупятся птенцы.Каждый зоопарк на планете имеет свой символ. Нашим символом является самый красивый и нежный – фламинго. Помнится, как этих птиц в зоопарк приносили полуживых, раненых. Работники зоопарка ухаживали за ними, как за больными детьми. Мне бы очень хотелось, чтобы на территории нашего зоологического парка существовал пусть и небольшой, но зоопарк домашних животных для детей, чтобы каждый ребенок мог зайти в клетку и покормить, скажем, козу или кролика.
