Last week I was working away from home and found that I had in my pocket ten pence. “Right,” I thought.
“I’ll go to the bank.” I found a bank in the high street, went in and made out a cheque card    for fifty pounds. I handed it to the cashier . She looked at it for a moment.

“I see you have your account at a different branch   ,” she said. “Can I see your cheque    for identification?”

“Of course,” I replied, and
handed it to her.

“Thank you, sir,” she said.
