One of the largest zoos in Russia. Covers an area of 63 hectares, it contains about 11,000 specimens of 756 species. More than 350 species listed in the International red book. About 180 species listed in the Red book of Russia and Regional Red Books. 77 types there is an international Studbook. In Novosibirsk zoo have been breeding felids and mustelids, so here is one of the world's finest collections of representatives of these families. The staff of the zoo takes part in 67 international programs on preservation of rare and endangered species of animals
