The Greeks are one of the most ancient peoples of the Crimea, although their modern number in the Crimea is small. In ancient times, two main Greek communities were formed in Taurida, which differed culturally and linguistically: Tauric Chersonesus, founded by the Dorians, and Panticapaeum, founded by immigrants from Ionia [1]. The constant rivalry between these two cities, located on opposite outskirts of the peninsula, led to the intervention of the Roman Empire in the politics and economy of Taurida. In modern Crimea, Greek toponymy is partially preserved, both the oldest (Koreiz, Miskhor, Gaspra) and the new (Sevastopol, Simferopol). In the 1770s, several tens of thousands of Greeks were resettled by A. V. Suvorov in the vicinity of Mariupol by order of Catherine. Together with them, 22 thousand Armenians moved to the Azov province. During the eviction from the Crimea to the Northern Azov region, part of the Christians, including the Greeks, not wanting to leave their homes, converted to Islam and eventually became part of the Crimean Tatar ethnos.

My Ideal School would be outside the city near a forest or a river, because the noise of traffic could disturb students at the lessons. When you enter the school yard you can see poplar trees and beautiful flowers. Children will be able to relax during the break, breath of fresh air. To the right of the school building will be a big playground. The school will be has a large room for lessons in various sections, such as dance, aerobics, gymnastics and much more. There will also be a swimming pool and various trails for cyclists and athletes.

Rubbish- Causes and solutions

Nowadays, we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is happening? What can be done to help reduce amount of rubbish produced?

Over the past few decades, the increasing of industrial wastes and household garbage has become a major problem in many countries.  People have question what caused this problem and what can be done to improve the situation. This essay will consider the causes of the increase in waste and outline possible solutions to address the problem effectively.

To begin with, modern lifestyle has contributed greatly to increasing amount of waste and garbage we produce every day. In other words, our society has turned into a materialistic and mass- consumption one where people use more and throw away more than ever before. Additionally, countries are running out of space to store garbage and waste material. In fact, securing land for waste disposal raises controversies in many countries.

To solve this problem, every citizen needs to participate in producing less garbage. For example, the consumers can bring their own personal shopping bags instead of using plastic bag provided by stores and shops. Besides, government can enforce stricter laws on companies to use biodegradable packaging or recycled material. Indeed, this alone can eliminate much of waste which is sent to landfills. Companies can also contribute by developing new raw material which is eco-friendly and will ultimately lead to less rubbish. One good example of this is that tire companies develop new tires for cars which are not made of rubber but of new ecological material.

As discussed above, two of the most critical causes of this waste material problem are the increased consumption and a shortage of space of landfill. Individuals as well as business and the government can share the responsibility to reduce the amount of waste material and to save the earth. With goodwill and efforts of the whole society, our future offspring will be better off with the well- preserved environment.
