 My Own TV  Channel.
No doubt, that the most popular entertainment in our home life is television. We have a choice between five channels ORT, RTR and 3 commercial channels. There is also a cable TV station in our town. Television plays an important role in our life. It informs people about current events both national and international, the latest achievements in science and culture, and offers some programmes, which are both interesting and informative.
Every day we can see different types of programmes on TV. If I could have my own channel on TV it would broadcast news at regular intervals. My channel would also present operas, ballets, music concerts and various shows. It would broadcast for schools five days a week, during school hours.In the late afternoon and early evening  my TV channel would show special programs for children. In the evenings and at weekends there would be broadcasting of sports events. A large part of time  would be occupied by films and serials and quizzes. A quizzes–programme  is a question and an answer competition which offers money and other prizes to the winners. Such programmes are also both informative and interesting. To conclude, I think my channel would have a programme “Travelling is Great!”, or "Let's Travel!" because such programme gives people a chance to travel to other worlds, to far away countries and learn their customs and traditions and much more.

Figure-skatingФигурное катаниеEvery person should practice physical exercises to keep fit and healthy. As for me, I try to go jogging in summer, and ice-skating in winter. I like all kinds of sport, especially winter ones, as they are rather spectacular. I’m sure many people in the world would agree that figure-skating is the most interesting sport to watch. Each time it is on TV, I watch it with pleasure. Since 1908 it is considered to be an Olympic Sport. They say it is a very complicated sport. It’s interesting to see how athletes perform challenging jumps, spins, and other intricate moves. I think that people, who seriously dedicate their lives to figure-skating, are heroes. This sport requires hours of training each day, as well as lots of effort and commitment. It isn’t easy to find a good coach, but this factor is very important. This sport is also rather costly. It requires certain material expenses on equipment. I’ve noticed that Russian athletes are really good at figure-skating. My favourite sports person is Irina Slutskaya. In my opinion, she is the best Russian skater. Even though she had many injuries, while doing this sport, she didn’t quit. Instead, she continued working hard to gain serious achievements. As a result, she became a two-time World champion. Today, there are several kinds of figure-skating, including freestyle, synchronized team skating, pairs. In my opinion, this sport is the perfect blend of beauty and power.на русском: Каждый человек должен заниматься физическими упражнениями, чтобы поддерживать себя в форме и здоровым. Что касается меня, я стараюсь заниматься бегом летом, и катанием на коньках – зимой. Мне нравятся все виды спорта, особенно зимние, так как они довольно впечатляющи. Я уверена, что многие люди в мире согласятся с тем, что фигурное катание является наиболее интересным видом спорта. Каждый раз, когда его показывают по телевизору, я смотрю с удовольствием. С 1908 года оно считается олимпийским видом спорта. Говорят, что это очень сложный спорт. Интересно наблюдать, как спортсмены выполняют нелегкие прыжки, вращения и другие замысловатые трюки. Я думаю, что люди, которые всерьез посвящают свою жизнь фигурному катанию, герои. Этот вид спорта требует многочасовых тренировок каждый день, а также усилий и преданности. Не так легко найти хорошего тренера, а это немаловажный фактор. Этот вид спорта также является довольно дорогим. Он требует определенных материальных затрат для снаряжения. Я заметила, что российские спортсмены очень хороши в фигурном катании. Моей любимой спортсменкой является Ирина Слуцкая. На мой взгляд, она лучшая российская фигуристка. Несмотря то, что у нее было много травм из-за данного вида спорта, она все же не бросила его. Вместо этого она продолжала упорно трудиться, чтобы добиться серьезных достижений. В результате, она стала двукратной чемпионкой мира. На сегодняшний день существует несколько видов фигурного катания, в том числе и фристайл, и групповое синхронное катание, и парное катание. На мой взгляд, в этом виде спорта идеально сочетаются красота и сила.
