In Canada there are more lakes, than in any other country of the world, she possesses a considerable reserve of fresh water. In her cities life is in full swing, to heaven bulks of skyscrapers from glass and concrete have shot up, and the primitive silence of steppes, the woods and mountains, eternal rest of the untouched nature reigns around. From outside Canada with her huge not populated spaces can seem almost deserted. The considerable part of the territory of Canada is occupied by lakes, the majority of which have a glacial origin. Since 1858 the capital of Canada is Ottawa founded in 1827. Together with the neighboring city of Hull she forms the large mother country.
