"WAS-WASN'T-WERE-WEREN'T" Yesterday 1) Monday.John 2) at work because he went to his hometown after ten years. When he arrived there, he couldn't believe his eyes. It 3) completely different. He looked for the small grocer on the corner of Apple Avenue, but he saw a big supermarket on its place. He and his best friend Steven 8) in the same school, and they 9) always together. He wanted to see the school building, but it was destroyed. There 10) any children in the old playground. The toys 11.. out of order.
