Alec: We got permission to see a new ship, so we went on an excursion. Boris: Oh, right. Which ship was it? Alec: The Constant. She came there only the day before yesterday. Boris: Yes, I know somebody told me about that yesterday. Did you see anything interesting there? Alec: Certainly, the Constant is a new ship, very large with up-to-date equipment. Boris: What type of propelling machinery does she have? Alec: She’s a turbine-propelled ship. Boris: Did you go to the engine room? Alec: First, we went to the bridge. There were a new radar and an echo sounder there. After that, we went down to the engine-room. Boris: What did you like there particularly? Alec: Well, we liked many things. The new system of automatic control steam supply, for one thing. Boris: How long did you stay on the ship? Alec: We stayed there more than two hours and then went home.
