Why are snow leopards endangered?How many are there in Kazakhstan today?An endangered animalMy favourite endangered animal is the snow leopard. It's a beautiful big cat, theking of the mountains! Snow leopards have a soft grey or yellowish coat with darkrosettes and spots. Their strong legs help them jump as far as 15 metres and theirlong tails help them balance on steeprocks. They prefer to be alone.Snow leopards inhabit 12 countriesin the world. There are only about200 species in Kazakhstan. They areendangered because of poaching and the falling numbers of preyanimals like blue sheep, argali and mountain goats. The snowleopard is protected in the Aksu-Dzhabagly, Almaty and MarkakolReserves. In Kazakhstan the snow leopard is on the coat of armsof AlmatyBy Aruzhan​
