2.3 In the morning I DID some work in the garden, then I HAD a rest for about an hour before going out to DO some shopping in the town. It was my sister’s birthday and I wanted to MAKE a special effort to cook a nice meal for her. I TOOK a look at a new Thai cookery book in the bookshop and decided to buy it. It has some EXTREMELY easy recipes and I managed to MAKE a good impression with my very first Thai meal. I think my sister REALLY enjoyed her birthday.

2.4 lead the expedition; lead the discussion; lead the inquiry

Mr.Smith led the school expedition to the Alps last year.

We led the discussion on what we had read during the lesson.

I think, the experienced lawyers will lead the inquiry into the case.
