ЯЗ Cross River GorillaRyan has just spent 6 months in a tent tracking these gorillasin the rainforests of Cameroon after he saw a documentaryabout them. He says, "I was very shocked when I heardthere are only 300 of these gorillas left because of huntingand deforestation that has destroyed their habitat. Everyday, we walked for miles up steep slopes in the rainforest.Our guide was a poacher in the past who hunted thegorillas for their meat! I was so excited when we saw ourfirst gorilla. We recorded lots of informationabout its location and activities. We alsotalked to locals and suggestedalternatives to cutting downforests for farming. This was themost interesting - andchallenging -experience of mylife!"
