They were chosen by the American Film Institute in June 2003. The list was first presented in a CBS special television programme hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The presentation was nominated for an Emmy Award. One of the most famous on that list is Robin Hood. Robin Hood is a heroic man found in English folklore who, according to the legend, was also a highly skilled archer and swordsman. They often show him as "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor". He is also the chief of his band of "Merry Men". Robin Hood became a popular folk figure in the late-medieval period, and continues to be widely represented in modern literature, films and television. The reality of Robin Hood is still in discussion. The legend about him is partly based on a historical person. A difficulty with any such historical research is that Robin was a very popular name especially in the 13th century. The surname Hood was also rather common. Unsurprisingly, reference is made to a number of people called "Robin Hood" очень
