следует упомянуть поговорку, которая гласит "if you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas". это переводится как "с кем поведёшься от того и наберёшься".

итак..

if you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas. i started with this proverb to mention that every person effects us. every person has an influence on us. 

either friends or parents effect on us. it causes on our behaviour. if we are in a good company we won't have a reputation of a bad person. 

asgeorge washington said "associate with men of good quality, if you esteem your own reputation, for it is better to be alone than in bad company."

1. washington d.c. was founded in 1791. 2. washington is situated on the potomac river in the district of columbia. 3. district of columbia is a piece of land that belongs to all the states 4. the most important places of interest are the capitol, the library of congress, the white house, the washington monument, the jefferson memorial and the lincoln memorial. 5. во-первых нет "washington memorial", есть только "washington monument", во-вторых, в тексте нет ответа на этот вопрос. там только упоминается что монумент похож на большой карандаш, если это нужно, то тогда так: the nickname of the washington monument is big pencil. 6. опять нет ответа в тексте 7. the population of washington is nearly one million people. 8. no other structures in the city should be built higher than the capitol.
