this is so unfortunate! i really do feel sorry for your mom's friend. do you have any money to lend her maybe? even if you don't, i assure you, there are some things she can do to help herself. first of all, why won't she try finding a job? i would suggest her such jobs as babysitter, cleaner and such. there are a lot of ways to find money nowadays so tell her to hold her chin up!
