My name is Ilya and I’m 13 years old. My family and I live in a busy city with the population over one million people. Every day we have to use public transport to get to work and to school. At the rush hours it becomes simply unbearable.We are glad that our grandparents live in the countryside. Although it’s not far from the city, it still feels much better there. I love spending time in the countryside. I know that there are certain advantages and disadvantages of living there.For example, if you are allergic to some plants, it would be difficult to live in green areas. Other than that, if you are a fan of fast-paced life, you won’t like the slow motion of country. Another disadvantage is the shortage of jobs and low salaries in such areas. On top of that, there aren’t many interesting things to do there, such as going to the cinema, restaurant, museum or theatreHowever, I find many other interesting activities in the countryside. Whenever I’m there, I go fishing with my granddad, I ride a bike as much as I want, and I go swimming in the lake with local boys and girls. I also admire the breathtaking landscapes of rural areas. I like seeing peaceful hills and forests, instead of traffic jams and gloomy skyscrapers. Another advantage is my grandparents’ garden. They grow lots of vegetables and fruit there, so we don’t need to buy such produce. They also have their own chickens and rabbits. What I really like about the countryside is the absence of any kind of robbery or burglary. In general, it’s peaceful and quiet there.

            I have visited my grandparents living in beautiful countryside for over 10 years. It is situated not far from the town but it looks like an ancient settlement. What gives it such a view is a number of wooden houses built a hundred years ago. They are old, but still very strong because their owners take very good care of them.

           The village is surrounded with a wood that extends far away deep into the region and it attracts many people who go on a picnic there or people who like picking up mushrooms and berries. It looks like a paradise with lush vegetation, strong and tall trees towering up into the sky and thick bushes growing everywhere in the wood. The grass in the wood is soft to lie on and I also think that the local cows find it very juicy as they can't stop chewing it.

          My grandparents have a little house at the edge of the village, they keep some chickens and geese in a shed. The residents of the village are cheerful and energetic people who help one another when something goes wrong. I would say that the whole atmosphere of the countryside is penetrated with quietness and peace which makes me feel relaxed every time I get there.
