Olzhas Suleimenov was born May 18, 1936 in Alma-Ata ( Kazakh ASSR ) .

1954 - Sulejmenov finishes school .

1959 - graduated from the Faculty of Geological Exploration of the Kazakh State University. During the last years Sulejmenov manages to work in geological expeditions.

1955 - Olzhas Suleimenov begins to engage in literature .

1958 - admission to the Literary Institute Gorky in Moscow in " poetic translation ."

1958 - 1961 years - study at the Literary Institute .

1959 - a selection of poems by Olzhas Suleimenov accepted for publication in " Literary Gazette ." In his specialty Suleimenova particularly interested in the problem of translation " Lay ." He is confident that this product contains many Turkish words , gone or distorted rewrite . After graduation he continues to deal with this problem .

1962 - return to Kazakhstan . Wrote the article " Dark Places " Lay . "

1962 - 1971 years - Sulejmenov works for the newspaper "Kazakhstan Pravda" literary editor .

Is also the chief editor of the editorial board of a scenario- Kazakh film studio ; collaborating with the magazine " Plenty " is journalistic work .

1966 - Sulejmenov acts script writer of the film " Land of the Fathers ."

1967 - poet awarded the Lenin Prize for poetry collection "Good sunrise ."

1970 - published a collection of poems of the poet "Over white rivers ."

1971 - Suleimenov has served as Secretary of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan .

1972 - Kazakh presidency of the Committee on Relations with the writers of Asia and Africa .

1975 - The results of many years of research , " Lay " are reflected in the book " Az i ." Censorship criticized the book and tries to disprove the theory Suleimenova whereas professional Türkologists take his side .

1981 - Olzhas moves to a new position . Now he is the chairman of the State Committee for Cinematography of the Kazakh SSR .

1983 - Sulejmenov becomes the first secretary of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan .

1989 - created at the initiative of Suleimenova international antinuclear movement "Nevada - Semipalatinsk" . Today Olzhas is its leader.

1995 - a post as ambassador to Italy. Sulejmenov went to Rome .

2002 - the post of representative of Kazakhstan to UNESCO , moving to Paris .

2007 - Olzhas Suleimenov awarded the Order of Friendship in Russia .
