Watches are believed to lead to parting, while knives lead to conflicts and quarrels. There are other more pleasant superstitions. During Christmas young girls get together and hold fortune-telling nights. They use some old-fashioned techniques to predict the important things in their life, for example, the date of a wedding, the name of a future husband, etc. Other pleasant superstition is connected with spiders. It is not common to kill spiders in the house, because these insects are believed to bring good luck and money. There are many other omens and superstitions in the world, but they all depend on the degree of your belief. Some people refuse to believe in such things unless there is a scientific reasoning behind it.
