The painter looked at the king’s pictures and said that he thought king's pictures were bad, and that the king(he) would never be a good painter.
The king said that he had been very angry with him(with the painter) because he (the painter) hadn't liked his pictures.He said that he forgot all about it then and added that he (the painter) was a free man again and he(the king) was his friend.
After the dinner the king showed his pictures to the painter and asked him how he liked them then.
