The Great Fire of London - 1666 The Great Fire of London is one of themost well-known disasters in history. Thefire began on 2nd September 1666 in TomFarriner's bakery in Pudding Lane. He wasa baker to King Charles II. It lasted fourdays and burnt down over 13, 000 houses.People lived in houses made of wood andstraw that were close together, so the firespread very quickly. Samuel Pepys, onefamous diarist, and his men managed toput out the last fire on 6th September. SirChristopher Wren designed amonument to remind people of theGreat Fire of London. It stands nearwhere the fire started.​

 It (happened) two years ago. Martha (my sister) and I (decided) to make a trip to Canada. We (packed) our suitcases rather quickly. Our trip (was) fascinating and we (were) glad that we (had forgotten) our hotel’s address at home.
