Reading Task 1. Read the text and complete the tasks below. Mr Lake and Mr River love outdoor activities and canoeing is their favourite. Last summer they went canoeing in France. They took a lot of baggage with them. Mr Lake took a canoe and Mr River took sleeping bags and a tent. One day they decided to spend a night in a beautiful forest by a lake. They left the canoe on the lake but they forgot to tie it up to a tree. Then they put up the tent. Mr Lake went to the forest because he wanted to find some wood for a fire. Next Mr River made a fire and cooked some fish. After the meal they went to bed. There was a terrible storm that night but Mr Lake and Mr River didn’t wake up. In the morning they went to the lake but their canoe wasn’t there. Then they saw their canoe in the lake. Their paddles, helmets and life jackets were in the canoe. Luckily, their mobiles were with them and they could call for help. Exercise 1. True or false, doesn’t say? 1. Mr. Lake and Mr River love indoor activities. 2. One night Wild Dog decided to go with the cat to the Man`s cave, because there was a sweet smell. But cat answered, that he was a cat, which walked by himself, so the Dog went alone. It asked Woman to give him a bone. Woman agreed, but instead of it the Dog promised her always to help her husband. When the Man saw the Dog, he asked what for was it.The Woman answered, that it became their first friend. Next niht wild horse and wild cow decided to look for the Dog, so they called the Cat with them. The Cat said them the same as he said to the Dog. When theu entered the cave, animals started to ask the Woman to give them some grass, which was smelling sweet. The Woman asked them to work for the Man and to give them milk instead of everyday`s grass. At last, the cat went to the cave and asked the Woman for some milk, she agreed, but instead of it, it had to catch mice in the cave. The cat answered, that he was a cat, which walked alone, and it would come only when it would like to, and it would get milk when it would like,too.

It looked like rain. The sky was dark. It was morning, but the sun was still not seen.  It was cool. There were no birds flying anywhere. Only a couple of them sat on the tree.Dan was standing outside talking to Jim. They both had their hands in their pockets trying to warm up. They knew it was going to rain shortly.
A young lady wearing a red coat left the house. She was taking her dog for a walk. Her dog was small and pretty. While the dog was sniffing everything, the lady was waiting patiently dreaming about a cup of hot tea.Dan said that he liked the rain. It reminded him of usual gray days in London. Jim said the only thing he didn’t like about rain was that all the motor oil from the streets would get washed into the ocean, and so would all the trash. Dan thought Jim was right.They kept silence for a minute and then Dan said: ‘But that never stops the surfers.They seem to care only about the waves, not the water’.

То же происходит и с мусором. Ден подумал, что Джим прав. Они молчали с минуту и затем Ден сказал: «Но это никогда не останавливает серферов. Их, кажется, волнуют лишь волны, но никак не вода».
