My name is Serafim. I’m fifteen years old and I study at the ninth form of the state secondary school. I was born and raised in Krasnoyarsk. It’s a large city and administrative center situated in Central and Eastern Siberia on the Yenisei River.

The city is notable for its natural landscapes and I’m very proud of that. Many people who have visited it state that it’s one of the most beautiful cities of Russia and certainly the most interesting city in Siberia. It is also an important junction of Trans-Siberian Railway. The total population is almost one million, at the moment perhaps even more. I love my home city very much for its beauty and abundance.

There are so many interesting places to visit: museums, theatres, exhibition halls, architectural sights, etc. One of the places I recommend for visiting is the national nature reserve called “Stolby”. Its striking beauty leaves a lasting impression. It is full of forest paths, rocks for climbing, nice promenades. In the summer I like walking at the bank of the River Yenisei. Apart from being picturesque, it has lots of useful functions, for example, ferry and barge crossings.

Many outstanding Russian people grew up in Krasnoyarsk, among them Vasily Surikov, Viktor Astafyev. The city is an ideal place for students, as there are lots of educational institutions. The locals call it “the city of fountains” for their presence nearly in every district. Krasnoyarsk is especially picturesque during the holidays. On the thirtieth of Desember we decorate a Christmas tree and our house. Mum hangs a stocking for Santa Claus near the Christmas tree.

We make presents for our friends. Mum will cook a Christmas pie and make salads. My mum, dad and I organize competitions and games.

We write a letter for Santa Claus and wish him good luck too! Santa Claus brings us presents at twelve o`clock under the Christmas tree. He eats biscuits and drinks milk with us.

When guests and friends come to us, we have got a holiday.

I wait for Christmas every year because I like to get presents and my family like Christmas very much! I wish Merry Christmas for you too!

Наша семья празднует Рождество весело. Мы покупаем Рождественскую ёлку и делаем рождественские игрушки. Мы покупаем много хлопушек, гирлянд из огоньков, звёзд, колокольчиков и шариков.

Тридцатого декабря мы украшаем Рождественскую ёлку и наш дом. Мама подвешивает чулок для подарков для Санта Клауса рядом с Рождественской ёлкой.

Мы изготавливаем подарки для наших друзей. Мама готовит рождественский пирог и салаты. Я с моими мамой и папой организую конкурсы и игры.

Мы пишем письмо для Санта Клауса и желаем ему счастья тоже! Санта Клаус приносит нам под Рождественскую ёлку подарки в двенадцать часов. Он ест печенье и пьёт молоко с ним.

Когда гости и друзья приходят в наш дом, мы получаем Счастливое Рождество.

Я жду Рождество каждый год, потому что мне нравится получать подарки и моей семье нравится Рождество очень сильно! Я желаю счастливого Рождества и вам тоже!
