Dear friend,

I was so glad to resive letter from you, but when I knew what are you going throught, I was horrified! I'm so sorry for you! Realy I hate rain with all my heart and I cn't even imagine how difficult it can be for such a fun boy as you are. At home I have nice sunny weather and lots of free time, so usually I go outside. Anyway, there is lots of things to do indoors. For example, when I have to stay home, I watch TV, play any board games (such as chess), read a books, texting to my friends (just like you did), pla the guitar, and any other ways of entertainment. You know, don't be upset, you can use this boring and terrible time at home for your self-education, I shure, it's going to be fun!

Best regard,

Your pen-friend.

My name is Ann. I am a schoolgirl. I have many different hobbies. One of them is collecting coins, sometimes called numismatics. This hobby is one of the oldest hobbies in the world. I have some special albums for coins where I keep them. I have coins from different countries. Some of them are very strange. They come in different shapes. They are not only round, some coins are square, some have holes in them. They come in different colour, too. Some are red and some are white. They are even of different material. I have some silver and gold coins in my collection. These coins are very expensive and are not used in everyday life. I can't say that my collection is thematic, I collect them all, old and modern, metal and wooden. There are a lot of coins in my collection which were minted to commemorate some special events of our country. My collection is not very big, but I am proud of it. When my friends come to visit me, I show it to them and they are happy to see it.

My Collection
Hobbies in most people’s lives occupy important place. In this case I’m not an exception. My hobby from the very early age is collecting stamps and coins from different countries. Most of the samples were given to me by my father who in his turn liked collecting them when he was younger. His collection was full of celebrity pictures, football players, museums of the world, etc. He was a real philatelist. Even though I occasionally fill this collection up, I still haven’t got as many stamps as he had. The collection of coins is my next hobby. It all started when my parents brought me some foreign money from their trip to Rome. After that I asked all my friends and relatives who traveled to other countries to bring me some authentic coins. At the moment my collection is rather impressive. I have eurocents, Australian cents, Chinese yuans and many other coins. You can say I’m an amateur collector, but those who collect coins on professional level are called numismatists. And yet it’s not all that interests me. Two years ago I started collecting cute spoons from different cities and countries. They are usually silver- or golden-plated and contain tiny inscriptions or jewels on them. To be honest it’s the most beautiful collection at my home. My first spoon was from England. I bought it when we were on school trip there with our class tutor and school headmaster. After that wherever I saw a nice teaspoon with symbolic meaning, I bought it. Besides, my parents brought me some from different angles of the world. At the moment I have already twenty-six spoons in my collection.
