Russia is the largest country in the world, washed by three oceans and many seas. That is why there are different types of climate in different regions of the Russian Federation. Basically, the country is dominated by a continental climate.

Central Russia has a mild climate with rather cold winters, humid springs and autumn, warm and hot summers. In the northern regions, the weather conditions are extremely harsh. In the south of the Krasnodar Territory, the air temperature is above zero throughout the year. Summer is really hot there. In some places, the climate is even subtropical.
