I decided to help in a nursing home, instead of "hanging" at home in front of a computer. I'm going to do this in the summer, because it's hard to do this during the school period.

I love the idea of being involved in something worthwhile. You can help for a couple of hours, twice a week. In a nursing home, your job is to help the helpless old people, help the staff feed the elderly, clean their rooms and take care of them. Most of the people in the nursing home are simply abandoned. When I first saw them, I almost burst into tears. They look so lonely and unhappy.

Looking after these people shows the importance of being kind to them. Spending some time with older people will be very supportive and reassuring. Through volunteering, you get to know yourself better, meet interesting people and gain valuable experience.
