Объясните почему в предложении i was surpised to hear l won the competition пишется не surprising, a surprised

Surprised - это время . Мы пишем его в этом предложении птому что , за ним идёт слово won -это форма глагола win . А значит , это уже было выйграно , а не выйграётся сейчас

In your letter, you asked me about having a heathy lifestyle. To my mind, it's very important to think about your health and being fit. First of all, it's great to do some sports activities because nowadays people spend their days sitting in one place without moving which is extremely bad for their health. Another significant part of keeping fit is eating the right food in the right amount because our bodies need an exact set of vitamins and other things they get through food to work properly. If we don't get enough energy or too much of it from what we eat, some problems with our health might appear.
